


Cornish Folktales for Autumn with Anna Chorlton - Thursday 6th November 2025 @ 7pm
Join us for a cosy evening of Cornish folktales with renowned folklorist Anna Chorlton. She is the author of numerous works, including ‘Cornish Folk Tales of Place’, copies of which Anna will be signing on the night!
Anna writes in the Cornish wilds. She is inspired by nature, folklore, history, people, and places. The Silver Ball, an audio drama about The Hurlers stone circle on Bodmin Moor was produced by Alternative Stories (spring, 2021) and performed at the Prim-Raf Theatre as part of the Cornish Gorsedh 2024. She wrote the animation scripts and tales for Cornish folklore project Mazed www.mazedtales.org which retells the traditional tales in ways old and new and two books linked to the project. Mazed was nominated for a Celtic Media Award for Innovation and a Holyer an Gof. Her poetry is internationally published in journals including Ice Floe Press (2022), Atlanta Review, (2020), Wild Court, (2021, 2024), and Skylight47, (2022). Her first book in the Cornish Folk Tales of Place series was published by The History Press in 2019, the second in April 2025.
